Company history

My first encounter with the beautiful country of Switzerland was as a young 19 year old. I was called by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to serve a two year mission in the Zurich, Switzerland Mission. This meant I would be living in the German speaking parts of Switzerland, Southern Germany, Western Austria, and Liechtenstein for a two year period. It was during this time that I developed a deep love for this majestic land and its people. Having a chance to live with the locals of this country has helped me become fluent in the German language and learn the best spots of Switzerland.

On returning home from my mission and later marrying the love of my life, we decided that as a couple, we should return to Switzerland, this time as tourists. After much planning my wife and I spent over three weeks seeing the best of Switzerland, from a tourist perspective. We created life lasting memories that we still cherish and reflect on.

This was the beginning of what is now "Edelweiss Tours." After that first trip as a young married couple, we knew Switzerland needed to be shared with others. Now almost a decade later, I have been taking small group tours back to Switzerland to show them a land that I hold dear to my heart. It has been such a joy for me to share the knowledge I have gained. Each time I go back, I am just as excited as those who are on the tour. Switzerland is a fantastic place to visit and a hidden jewel within Europe.

We also recently became a Certified Swiss Specialist through Switzerland Tourism, this is an accomplishment we are very proud of showing off!

I am also a published author of the book "The Penny Pichers Guide to Europe", a step by step guide on traveling to Europe. And a travel writer for The Oregonian.

There is something to be said about travel; it gives us something to look forward too, it broadens our horizons, it teaches us about diversity, it provides us with a retreat from our day to day life, and it allows us a small glimpse into the beauties that God has so miraculously created for us.

Having a vacation apartment made this tour unlike any other tour; we weren't stuck in a tourist trap. We were able to see how the local Swiss people lived making this trip so much more memorable. Thanks! ~Scott

Thank you for putting together such a fun trip to Switzerland. You supplied us with much history and fun facts. The temple was one of our favorite experiences and of course the Alphorns are high on the list.

My Experience of Edelweiss Tours..... I would just like to say that I have ALWAYS been afraid to travel too far. Having Edelweiss plan my trip and I mean PLAN MY TRIP.... Activities, food, outings, etc. made it the best vacation I have had in a long time. It really put an ease to "planning my trip" I was able to just enjoy myself and have a good time.
